On the edge

Humans have expanded to almost every part of this earth and the wild coast of Cornwall is impacted by man's footprint; mining, farming, the organisations that have taken stewardship of  the land and of course the litter and debris of society. The edge is where I go to experience nature at its wildest, at the  periphery;  a cliff top, perched on a rock or ledge, by the shore or in the sea.  For others it is the centre (of moorland, deserts, forests and oceans) where wilderness can be found, it is wildness that I seek, the experience of feeling more alive and the life force of nature.

"To me, a wilderness is where the flow of wildness is essentially uninterrupted by technology; without wilderness the world is a cage."—David Brower
